**The Role**
- The Business Solutions Analyst works across departments and teams to deliver project management, technology planning, business area analysis, scope, design, and deliver business process solutions, system design that support the project portfolio and technology environment for Enrolment Services (i.e.: Enterprise SIS, CRM, Document Management). They perform as a solutions specialist; they resolve business challenges by maximizing the use of features in our current technology and minimizing creation of special cases and custom solutions. They focus on gathering requirements for use when planning and designing solutions to facilitate change. They function as a technical and functional solution architect pertaining to Enrolment Services’ use of enterprise programs.
- They provide exceptional student and client-centered service on a consistent basis to all stakeholder groups.**Responsibilities**
- 1. Designs and leads the delivery of improved business solutions to support the College’s vision:

- a) Identifies and evaluates opportunities for continuously improving new and existing processes throughout the college through process-flow mapping and process design
- b) Conducts business analysis by identifying and documenting situations that require technology solutions or process improvements
- c) Researches and analyzes existing practices and procedures, and emerging technologies and proactively identifies opportunities for improvements to business processes and acts as lead in project plan for implementation
- d) Performs requirement gathering, management and analysis
- e) Applies project management and business analysis techniques, such as identifying stakeholders, requirements gathering, monitoring progress and task completion for staff within team and Enrolment Services to ensure effective project delivery
- g) Collaborates across departments and teams to develop business solutions. Researches and develops business cases including technological alternatives, cost benefit analysis, programming resources and policy/procedure enhancements
- h) Facilitates workshops to gather both functional and technical requirements
- i) Develops documentation of plans and designs from interviews with users. Translates business processes into technical specifications
- j) Acts as a liaison between end-users and technical teams to ensure business requirements are properly communicated and understood
- l) Develops and documents test scenarios for User Acceptance Testing. Coordinates and performs testing in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders. Partners with CEIT to ensure robust UAT is conducted
- m) Plans and assists with user training for systems functionality
- o) Liaises with vendors for technical and project related issues
- p) Supports the work of functional areas to ensure a deep understanding of duties and needs required to support process improvements
- q) Assists in the planning process through the development, design, collection, analysis and dissemination of a variety of reports and metrics with respect to determining Enrolment Services workloads, workflows and patterns
- 2. Project Coordination
- a) Guides and monitors the work of small project teams
- b) Allocates and schedules staff of project teams
- c) Tracks and troubleshoots deliverables and risks of projects
- d) Creates and revises reporting templates and training materials used throughout the college for initiatives
- e) Assists manager in developing, prototyping, and implementing new processes and procedures throughout the institution
- f) Fulfill additional project coordination tasks that align with departmental goals and values as necessary
- 3. Performs other related duties.
- a) Provides information, technical assistance and support to users
- b) Attends internal and external meetings
- c) Creates and maintains system documentation for technical and non-technical users
- d) Delivers training to users and peers in systems functionality and business processes
- e) Maintains a high level of technical currency and competency by; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies; keeping current with technology trends and best practices
- f) Builds and maintains good working relationships and collaborates with others to

- g) Monitors and supports access provisioning for systems used by the College community
