**Position Summary**

Responsible for effectively controlling delinquency and minimizing potential losses within Axis Equipment Finance. Accountable for exercising sound judgment in balancing risk with the probability of recovery, collecting past-due payments, assisting with restructuring amendments, coordinating repossessions, remarketing equipment across Canada, suing obligors for deficiencies after sale, and identifying and reporting possible fraudulent activities.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Collect and review delinquency on equipment leasing contracts.
- Administer bank drafts and wire payments, process manual PAP for repayment, process payment suspensions and deferrals, lease buyouts and insurance claims.
- Receive and review bankruptcy and related documents from debtor assistance programs. Prepare and file appropriate forms as required.
- Initiate collection action on delinquency over 35 days past due through established collection policies and procedures.
- Initiate legal action against remaining obligors on a defaulted lease contract where a deficiency exists after the asset has been sold.
- Prepare defaulted accounts for write-off as required.
- Investigate early term defaults and suspicious activity, such as closed accounts & first payment defaults. Work closely with key stakeholders to investigate, follow up, mitigate, and ultimately recover potential losses.
- Maintain regular contact where appropriate with various outside agencies who are part of the collections process (e.g., law firms, bailiffs, remarketers, bankruptcy trustees, etc.)
- Stay current on industry trends and current market fraudulent activities and trends to mitigate risk on delinquent and fraudulent accounts.

**Minimum Experience**:

- Minimum four (4) years of equipment finance collections experience in Canada
- Bilingual (French and English)
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills
- Must be self-directed, decisive, and goal-oriented
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to deliver exceptional customer service
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid team player

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$75,673.47 per year
