**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to recipes and standards
- Measure and mix ingredients, bake, and decorate pastries and donuts
- Ensure food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed in the preparation and handling of food
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation of the pastry department
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of supplies
**Requirements**:
- Previous experience working in the food industry, preferably as a pastry cook or baker
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong skills in food preparation and baking techniques
- Ability to handle and decorate cakes and pastries with precision and creativity
- Familiarity with working in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen environment
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Flexibility to work various day shifts, including weekends and holidays
Education: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate or student
Experience: Baking: 2 years (required)
License/Certification: pastry diploma (required)/pastry student
Follow recipes and instructions for preparing and assembling,
Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and other appliances.
Ensure that all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards.
Monitor food supplies and order items as needed.
Maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
Prepare doughs, batters, icings, fillings, and other ingredients for pastries.
Decorate cakes and other pastries with frosting and other toppings.
Organize work time efficiently, fast, and complete work assignments on time.
Be able to work with others in a busy kitchen.
Ensuring products are made for the day and to high standards
Know how to use kitchen equipment and recipes.
Sanitation procedures and safety and food handling practices.
Must have food handlers certificate
Must, be a graduate in pastry diploma/pastry student and have experience. You may drop off your resume in-person and meet with Head baker anytime 1pm-2pm Wed-Sunday
