**About the Organization**
- The Ocean Frontier Institute (OFI), headquartered at Dalhousie University and in partnership with Memorial University of Newfoundland and University of Prince Edward Island, is one of the world’s most significant ocean science research and training collaborations. OFI currently administers four key ocean programs: i) the Safe and Sustainable Development of the Ocean Frontier, a $94M Canada First Research Excellence Fund program; ii) the Ocean Graduate Excellence Network, a co-curricular program designed to enhance graduate students’ employability in multiple sectors; iii) Ocean School (partnership with National Film Board of Canada), an educational program for students in grades 5-12; iv) and the North Atlantic Carbon Observatory, what could potentially be a global ocean-carbon initiative involving international governments, private sector, and philanthropic organizations/NGOs. **Job Summary**
- Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Project Coordinator will be primarily responsible for coordinating multiple projects under the portfolio of the CAO, including, for example, preparing annual progress reports to funding agencies, coordinating the preparation of governance documentation, preparing work plans that guide implementation of strategy, provision of information and data to support internal and external communications, and leading and assisting with planning of workshops, conferences, meetings, etc.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Turn strategy into executable implementation plans, including identifying actions and tactics, timelines, deliverables, and assignment of responsibilities. Manage implementation plans to ensure successful outcomes.
- Manage projects throughout initiation, planning/requirements gathering, execution, performance/monitoring, and project close, including planning and managing information and data gathering processes, at times using technology such as Google Docs or other electronic file sharing means, and liaising with researchers, staff, external partners, and others as necessary for the preparation of reports, taking into consideration reporting requirements, internal approval processes, and submission deadlines.
- Support performance measurement and evaluation on an annual and initiative-specific basis including drafting and coordinating survey administration, data analysis, and report preparation.
- Build relationships and liaise with OFI-funded researchers, post-doctoral fellows, visiting fellows, OFI partners and collaborators, and OFI staff, locally, nationally, and internationally to further project activities and for the purposes of information and data gathering and provision of information.
- Write and contribute to the development of internal and public reports, briefings, web pages and presentations to ensure effective development, planning and implementation of projects and appropriate representation of OFI.
- Support OFI staff needs through provision of up-to-date data and information gleaned through annual data gathering processes and/or other outreach.

**Note**
The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Diploma with 5 years of related experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, information technology skills, and information management skills.
- Strong knowledge of information and data gathering methodologies, attention to detail, and report writing experience.

**Assets**
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in ocean or marine science.
- Communications writing training.
- Experience in a university research administration environment.
- Bilingual in English and French, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Asana project management software is an asset, as is event planning experience.
