**Position Overview**:The Buyer is responsible for providing an uninterrupted flow of materials at greatest value to meet production schedules, in accordance with IMW Industries documented procedures and instructions.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Ensure materials/parts and services are available and executed on time with expected quality.
- Maintain systems to ensure the accurate accounting and usage of all materials.
- Process Purchase Orders through Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Analyze all MRP reports.
- Oversee warranty claims with vendors (Nonconformance Reports).
- Solve Purchase Order/Invoice discrepancies.
- Manually generate Purchase Orders for shop floor (purchase requisitions).
- Develop and manage relationship with suppliers.
- Prepare and manage RFP/RFQs.
- Expedite, track, and coordinate suppliers’ deliveries.
- Coordinate and engage with cross-function teams to achieve the organization goal and objectives.
- Generate regular purchasing reports.
- Know and understand workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities.
- Follow safe work procedures and act safely in the workplace at all times.
- Maintain a safe working environment within the department and on each job.
- Use the protective clothing, devices, and equipment required for the job.
- Complete all applicable quality records.
- Perform work in accordance with IMW documented policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
**EDUCATION**:
- Purchasing Management Association of Canada Certification II or equivalent.
**EXPERIENCE**:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing required.
**LANGUAGE**:
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written in English.
- Ability to coordinate with all departments as needed.
**COMPUTER SKILLS**:
- Solid experience using Enterprise Resource Planning/Material Requirement Planning systems.
- Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite.
**OTHER**
- Solid knowledge of purchasing practices.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Have an eye for detail and pride in one’s work.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Must have excellent time management skills and ability to re-prioritize as needed
