**Location**: Wheelchair Sports Alberta office is located at 11759 Groat Road, Edmonton, Alberta. Majority of this position will be spent on the road, travelling for weeks at a time in rural Alberta.

This position requires a combination of time to be spent in both the office and in the community. iSHOW is Northern Alberta program therefore regular travel throughout the province is a condition of the position

**Employment Terms**:3 Month probation period, contract based on grant. Current term is until the end of established grant TBD- roughly looks until the end of March, 2026.

**Education: Minimum qualifications**:

- Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or Indigenous Relations

**Section 3 - Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Position Summary**:The Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of the “Indigenous Shooting Hoops on Wheels” program in Treaty 6 and 8 in Alberta on behalf of Wheelchair Sports Alberta. iSHOW is a program designed to introduce individuals living on reserves in the Edmonton and Northern Alberta communities to wheelchair basketball. The mission of the program is to introduce and support continued involvement of individuals within these communities to wheelchair sports with the hopes to increase participation and eventually find a team. The Program Manager will deliver iSHOW programming by organizing, promoting, and hosting: Have-A-Go Days, Multi-Sport Recruitment Events, Sport Specific Developmental Clinics, Weekly Drop-In Sports Sessions, Wheelchair Sport Demonstrations, and Program Presentations.

**Program Administration 40%**

ž Maintaining database of iSHOW program participants for reporting purposes

ž Must deliver at least 1 weekly event per month, the goal would be 2+ per month when possible.

ž Developing at least 4 events

ž Organizing logístical requirements for program delivery

ž Maintaining equipment

ž Liaising with venue staff regarding programs

ž Working with local clubs to ensure that their needs are met

ž Responsible for booking facilities and amenities, maintenance requirement, catering ground transportation and volunteer coordination when WSA hosts large events

ž Responsible for providing admin, equipment, promotion, invitations and media support for Provincial Teams and local WSA sport clubs as requested

**Presentations: 20%**

ž Presenting to medical and education professionals regarding the benefits of the iSHOW program

ž Instructing elementary, high school, college and university classes in wheelchair sports

ž Forming new partnerships to help expand the programs to new centers

ž 1 on 1 meetings with potential members to share information about iSHOW and other opportunities available to them

ž Attend indigenous vendor fairs to raise awareness

**Partnerships: 15%**

ž Forming and maintaining partnerships with other community partners and stakeholders (such as occupational therapists, recreation therapists, other disability sport groups, sport clubs, etc.)

ž Attending Interagency Meetings (i.e. CP, Spinal cord injury, etc.) to network and share program information

**Communication: 10%**

ž Answering inquiries regarding wheelchair and other sport opportunities for persons with a disability

ž Maintaining and updating iSHOW page on Wheelchair Sports Alberta website and social media sites

ž Producing and distributing quarterly newsletters to members and community partners

**Reporting: 10%**

ž Ensure all reporting needs are maintained according to the grant
- ie. Tracking individuals, taking photographs, documenting financial spending

ž Provide quarterly reports to the WSA Board on iSHOW

ž Provides annual summary report of iSHOW for submission in the WSA Annual Report

**Financial: 5%**

ž Work with ED on program finances monthly

ž Assist in budget development for iSHOW annually
