**Fitness Program Coordinator**
The YMCA of Saskatoon role of Fitness Program Coordinator requires a person who is energetic, well organized and enthusiastic about working in the field of community development through the provision of high-quality services and programs. The Fitness Program Coordinator is responsible for all fitness and training activities including the oversight of personal trainers and an extensive group of fitness volunteers. Knowledge of the fitness industry and physical literacy concepts, experience in Personal Training, group instruction and managing staff will be an asset.
**_Responsibilities: _**:
- To increase member involvement with the YMCA through well run fitness programs with a focus on adult fitness;
- Aim to deliver a wide range of high-quality fitness classes throughout the peak periods of the week;
- To engage with and support 50+ Fitness Volunteers in scheduling; Personal Trainers
- To lead fitness classes as required;
- To be able to lead and supervise YThrive program and volunteers;
- Leads staff development process; deliver Fitness Volunteer appreciation, certification and training opportunities for Personal Trainers and Fitness Volunteers;
- Recruits and Hires staff as required;
- To work with YMCA Internal partner groups; develop new partnerships;
- To work with schools and coordinate bookings
- Budget for staff, program supplies, and assist with capital fitness equipment;
- To be available to answer questions from members regarding training, personal exercise and group programs;
- To supervise Group Fitness Instructors in different areas during classes/programs, helping members and ensuring all members are following YMCA member etiquette;
- Maintains communication and liaison with participants. Schedule classes in current software and calendars;
- Approves staff hours;
- Communicates with all other Program Directors/Coordinators as required in regards to classes and programming;
- Other related duties assigned by supervisor/program needs
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- Some post-secondary education in - Kinesiology or related field preferred
- Valid/Current Group fitness certification required to teach classes
- Certified as, and experience with Personal Training required to train
- Initiative and proven capacity to work in a self-directed manner as well as demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with other staff, partners and participants.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication and administrative skills
- Previous experience with recruitment, hiring, performance management and training/supervision of staff. Program and budget management experience. Current First Aid, CPR, Criminal Records Search and Child Welfare Check. - Flexibility regarding assigned working hours, including evenings and weekends; SS shift
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week
**Salary**: $15.75-$18.50 per hour
