**Job Title**: Early Years Program Coordinator
**Reports to**: Child & Family Programs Coordinator
**Primary Role**:
- Program Development and Delivery
- Early Years and Best Babies (pre and postnatal) Program facilitation
- Outreach and individual support for families
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Provides a safe and welcoming space for community, removing barriers for program attendance
- Participates in quarterly CAPC meetings and provide updates regarding CAPC funded programs to Child & Family Programs Coordinator (CFPC). Provides reports and statistics as requested
- Facilitates weekly Early Years program planning and facilitating, including setting up developmentally appropriate activities for children (0-5 and their families) for Playgroups, Kindergym, and Music program
- Planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks
- Co-facilitates on-site Best Babies Program in partnership with Fernwood Neighbourhood Resource Group (FNRG)
- Facilitates staff and volunteer recruitment, orientations, training, and supervision to support above Early Years programs
- Ensures the maintenance and tabulation of attendance and statistics in Early Years programs, including Playgroups, Kindergym, Music Program, and Best Babies. Generates quarterly and other reports related to these program areas
- Provides outreach, individual support, and system navigation for program involved families
- Liaisons with the CFPC to provide continuity in Family Outreach Service caseload. Includes acting as a resource for Child Development and Positive Parenting information
- Attends staff meetings and training when applicable, outside of regular core hours
- Attends committee meetings at the discretion of CFPC
- Is familiar with and implements QVCC’s policies, procedures, and best practices
- Participates to ensure a safe environment; observes potential hazards, remedies and/or reports to the appropriate person
- Makes regular written and verbal reports as required by the CFPC and Executive Director
- Assists with other related duties when required and approved by the CFPB and ED
**Qualifications**:
- Commitment to anti-oppressive, decolonial, and anti-racist practice
- Degree in Child & Youth Care or Social Work, or diploma program in a relevant discipline (e.g., Early Childcare), and extensive training and experience as outlined above
- Minimum 6 months experience providing Outreach Support to families
- Minimum 2 years of experience facilitating early childhood related activities and working with children birth to 5 years of age
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience working directly with parents, care givers or other adults
- Valid First Aid certificate
**Hours of Work**:
- 26.25 hours per week September through to June
- Core hours are 9:30am-2:45pm Monday through Friday, plus additional monthly staff meetings or training.
- Hours will be reduced to 16 hours per week during the months of July and August due to the reduction in programming
**Benefits and Remuneration**:
- $23.25 an hour
- 6% vacation pay accumulation (3 paid weeks off per year)
