**Job Description**:
This position is expected to plan, organize and motivate staff in the performance of their responsibilities and functions. The Operations Coordinator is accountable for coordinating work flow, monitoring staff requirement, involve in employee onboarding process, scheduling and dispatching field operations, and updating the customer with the progress in field jobs. Ensure that operational targets and customer expectations are met in a timely and effective manner, while observing corporate quality, environmental, Health & Safety requirements. As needed perform laboratory testing, sample reception and samples preparation.
- Scheduling and dispatching inspectors for field jobs (i.e. fumigations, railcar/trucks/vessel and container inspections).
- Providing daily updates to customers on the progress of their inspections.
- The Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing production by providing client services and internal operations with scheduling of sample analysis and accurate information on completion dates to meet client satisfaction.
- Monitors production and ensures optimum staff levels/shifts to achieve SGS-LR standards for production, quality and financial performance. Monitors throughput and performance of employees.
- Manages office, lab and field supplies to achieve optimum production and cost effectiveness.
- Schedule and monitors man-hours and approves overtime/vacation accordingly, adding additional staff only where workload and financial performance can support it.
- Daily data entry to track and report production status (# samples processed/personnel). Maintains production targets and takes proactive measures to sustain these targets.
- Daily sample reception, logging and preparation for testing
- Once trained, perform basic laboratory testing (e.g. falling numbers, moisture, test weight, protein, vomitoxin and grain grading)
- Draft and issue final (e-)certificates and reports for the clients upon draft approval
- Provides authoritative opinions in their area of expertise and finds new and innovative ways of improving production efficiencies.
- Works toward continuous improvement in production and efficiency, delivery of quality data promptly, adhering to predetermined schedules.
- Monitors and checks for completion of all daily H&S checks, monthly H&S meetings as assigned.
- Prepare emergency protocol and any incident/accident reports as assigned.
- Participate in performance reviews with the direct supervisor.
- Ensures the maintenance of documentation as required by the quality system.
- ad hoc projects and extended hours may be assigned and required
- Prepare phytosanitary samples for the client and send samples to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency in accordance to the CGSP (Canadian Food Sampling Program)

- Accountable for ensuring that the quality of data, current methodologies and the execution of the methods are in compliance with the current accreditation under ISO 9001.
- Accountable for ensuring that an appropriate and planned training program is executed and measured for all personnel under direction. This includes quality system awareness and continuous technical improvement.
- Accountable for familiarizing oneself with the Quality Manual and ensuring appropriate documentation is current and reliable.
- Accountable for ensuring an optimal level of quality supplies is maintained.
