**Job Summary**
Reporting directly to the Director of Sourcing and Product Development, the Apparel Product Development/Sourcing Assistant assists with product development, timelines and costing for private label brands. Contributing to the bottom-line profitability of The Authentic T-Shirt Company/SanMar Canada by collaborating on and developing trending products.
**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- 1+ year experience in garment wholesale a must
- 1+ year experience in garment construction a plus
- 1+ year general administrative experience a plus
- Experienced using Adobe Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, a must
- Fabric knowledge an asset
- Self-starter, highly motivated and willing to take on any task
- Must be flexible, organized, and dependable while eager to learn
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy of data
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, Adobe Illustrator and Photo Shop
- Ability to meet deadlines and able to work well under pressure
- Flexibility and a can-do attitude are a must, as project priorities change frequently
- Thrives in an ever-changing environment
- Proven ability to work independently with little supervision
- Valid driver's license and passport
**Working Conditions**
- Full-time, in-office attendance required
- 40 hours per week; occasional overtime
- Early morning/evening meetings required
- Weekend communications as necessary to accommodate international time zones
- International travel as required
**Primary Accountabilities**
- Collaborate on product development details, including generating ideas for new items
- Create and maintain Tech Packs for new product development
- Create and maintain the Product Development Tracker for new projects
- Communicate with overseas suppliers in the development sampling process and product changes
- Track and manage product samples, including checking in, maintaining sample storage, measuring, and scheduling approval meetings with the manager
- Order lab dips and schedule approval meetings with the manager
- Conduct wash and print testing, maintain records and communicate results to the Manager
- Organize fit sessions and maintain fit session comments and photos
- Proof garment specs details for accuracy for the Merchandising team
- Provide clear and comprehensive product information to Marketing and Quality Control partners
- Effectively prioritize and manage work assignments
- Take on new assignments that present growth opportunities and support company objectives
- Demonstrate a passion for product, commitment to quality, and ensuring best product execution
