**The Opportunity**

Corporate Facilities provides the City of Barrie with expertise in four key service areas: facility planning, design and construction; maintenance and property management, facility asset management and energy management. As a Centre of Excellence for a large and complex inventory of physical assets, the department comprises all the necessary functions and lines of business to ensure the full life-cycle management of the City of Barrie's facility and property portfolios.

Under the general guidance and direction of the Director of Corporate Facilities, the Supervisor of Corporate Facilities Administrative Support Services provides leadership to, and directly overseas the Administrative Section. Specifically, this position is responsible for overseeing and supervising administrative support functions within the Corporate Facilities Department, which include the Facility Planning and Development Branch, the Corporate Facilities Branch and the Energy Management Branch. Specifically, this position acts as an initial point of contact for, and investigates and responds to escalated inquires, requests and complaints as they relate to services offered through the Client Services desk. Additionally, this position acts as an initial point of contact for the Director and Management staff in the department, oversees payroll processing, departmental procurement processes, maintains/tracks all aspects of employee records/files and monitors the Section budget. Overall, this position plays an integral role in ensuring the consistent delivery of the Departmental administrative support services to enable comprehensive delivery of services to the residents and customers of the City of Barrie.

**Education **(degree/diploma/certifications)
- Two (2) year College Diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration or related discipline.

**Experience**
- Four (4) years of experience performing duties in an administrative and clerical role related to the Supervisor of Corporate Facilities Administrative Support Services major responsibilities including:

- Experience providing administrative and clerical support to senior/executive level officials and elected/appointed officials; and
- One (1) year of supervsiory experience.

**Knowledge/Skill/Ability**
- General knowledge of the following legislation, regulations and or requirements:

- Employee Standards Act
- Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
- Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Municipal Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA)
- General knowledge of the following:

- Municipal, regional, provincial and federal government services, programs, and initiatives
- Supervisory principles, labour relations principles and collective agreement administration
- Working knowledge of the following:

- Customer service and public relations principles, standards and techniques
- Administrative, clerical, and payroll processes and procedures, records management practices, procurement practices, budgeting practices, and general office equipment operation
- Cash handling and management practices
- Demonstrated ability to:

- Lead, coach, mentor and support staff while building cohesive and motivated teams
- Align Section programs/services with branch, department and corporate goals, objectives and initiatives
- Develop, promote and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Effectively allocate budgets, time, and human resources to support the achievement of Section work activitie
