The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and North East Region are seeking a qualified individual to join our unit. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will support the delivery of end-to-end recruitment, Human Resources services, activities and programs for in-scope positions within a specific region. You will provide senior managers, applicants and the general public with information about recruitment processes. You will also provide support and assistance to management on business planning projects, project initiatives and service delivery matters as assigned.

**Note - This position is an operational position requiring a high level of engagement with members and stakeholders. The successful applicant will be required to report to North East Region Headquarters to perform their duties in accordance with Ontario Public Service workplace policies.

North East Region spans from Moosonee Detachment in the north, Mattawa Detachment in the east, White River Detachment in the west to the West Parry Sound and Almaguin Highlands Detachments in the south, the North East Region of the OPP encompasses a geographical area (423,173 sq. kilometres). This is larger than several European countries. The North East Region includes the districts of Algoma, Sudbury, Cochrane, Timiskaming, Nipissing, Manitoulin and Parry Sound. OPP North East Region provides policing to over 190,000 permanent residents and to more than 400,000 people when including temporary/seasonal residents.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: To support the delivery of end-to-end recruitment, Human Resources services, activities and programs for in-scope positions within a specific region.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Human Resources functions, practices and procedures related to recruitment in order to participate in the provision of consultation, knowledge and strategic advice to Senior Managers in their recruitment activities.

Project management skills to coordinate mass recruitment or talent pool initiatives including reaching milestones in recruitment, assessing and evaluating the outcome.

Ability to provide end to end recruitment services to clients, as well as strategic advice and guidance related to recruitment and staffing relying on relevant human resources management practices, theories, programs and policies. Promotes recruitment processes that are fair, reliable and valid. Ability to provide strategic advice/guidance with a focus on quality hiring to senior managers and regional directors to meet operational needs.

Exercise independence of action when coordinating concurrent recruitment projects, conducting research and recommending alternative strategies to address HR issues and resolve recruitment issues.

Ability to consult with recruitment professionals to clarify issues and participate in the provision of strategic recruitment advice to line/client managers.
