The Vital Statistics Agency (Agency) is responsible for a Provincial program focusing on the registration of vital life events and the production or issuance of abstracts and certificates of those events. Additionally, the Agency produces many health status indicators that are utilized as key information resources by health planners and researchers.

The Agency is responsible, through legislation, for the following registries: births, deaths, marriages, change of name, adoptions, and wills. Other services include the issuance of marriage licences and disposition permits and the appointment of Marriage License Issuers, Marriage Commissioners, Vital Statistics Registrars and religious representatives, for the purpose of solemnizing marriages.

This position is responsible for the management of a specific region and as such is the primary contact for vital statistics regional business. The Regional Manager responds to requests and enquiries from the general public and other provincial & federal government ministries/agencies.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years related experience; OR
- Diploma in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 3 years related experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
2 or more years experience supervising a group of subordinate positions within a workplace environment that includes allocating work duties and managing employee performance.RELATED EXPERIENCE MUST INCLUDE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

- Experience preparing and delivering clear and concise communication, both orally and in writing, to internal and external partners.

2 or more years of management experience.**About this Position**:

There is currently one (1) permanent position available in Victoria and one (1) temporary position available in Vancouver.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
