**Current Rate of Pay**: Min $54.04 - Max $67.56

**Current Shifts**: Primarily Days

**Position Summary**:
The Manager is responsible for facilitating day to day patient care related activities within the Medicine and Stroke Departments at GGH. They provide daily direction to unit personnel to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with the patient and families and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental and strategic goals and objectives of the organization.

The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, ensures they provide an environment that supports and advances professional practice, and leads clinical staff in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy. They serve as role model for professional and organizational core competencies and support quality patient-care outcomes.

**Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities**:

- Registered Healthcare Professional
- Bachelor's Degree in a health related field, Master’s degree in a health related field preferred
- Membership in relevant professional organization(s)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience with guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems
- Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies preferred
- Demonstrated leadership skills and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate leadership with respect to enhancing patient and staff safety.
- Demonstrate leadership to improve patient experience, patient satisfaction.
- Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies.
- Demonstrated excellence interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.
- Proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong patient focused philosophy to support patient experience and patient satisfaction.

- Ability to analyze research and implement evidence-based practice into Policy and Procedure development and clinical practice.

- Demonstrated ability to execute strategies to maintain a balanced financial position.
- Experience with conflict resolution, guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems.
- Demonstrates knowledge in clinical practice in the care of Medicine patients; including, patients with stroke, COPD, CHF, and the care of complex medical and geriatric patients.
- Participates and facilitates patient flow within the medicine program
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient flow and bed allocation processes, including working knowledge of infection control guidelines as they pertain to patient flow decision making.
