**Job Summary**:
The Manager, Camps and Education is responsible for the management of Canlan’s youth summer camps, and in-school holiday camps. The role will also work closely with the centralized programing team to manage and administer clinic-based youth programs, and will also be responsible for innovating Canlan’s partnerships with local educational partners to provide relevant programming opportunities at each of our locations.

They provide leadership, energy, and a strong initiative in developing, growing, and maintaining programs within the Canlan sports complexes across their assigned region of the two (2) regions listed below, while balancing strong customer service, business acumen, and a drive to innovate and strive for more.

Canlan Sports Region Breakdown

The “West Region” is comprised of the following Sports Complexes:

- Burnaby, Langley, North Shore
- Winnipeg, and Saskatoon

The “East Region” is comprised of the following Sports Complexes:

- Etobicoke, Oakville, Oshawa, Scarborough, and York
- Mississauga (non-ice location)
- Romeoville, West Dundee
- Lake Barrington, Libertyville (non-ice locations)

**Position Requirements**:
**Work will be completed in-line with approved Canlan Sports policies, including a combination of on-premise and hybrid work schedules**:

- Occasional travel to all sports complexes located within a region may be required
- Light travel may be required on an annual basis for team meetings or conferences

**Accountabilities**:
In the area of Youth Programs, this role is responsible for:

- Operations: Optimizing ice-flows, product mixes, scheduling, and program set-up
- Sales and Marketing: Strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and development of marketing + communications plan.
- Experience: Works with a team to optimize product delivery and overall customer experience.
- Financial Results: Overall revenue, expense management, and participation trends.

**Leadership Competencies and Responsibilities**:

- Camps and Education + Operations
- Manages camps and educational programs with a central focus on customer experience, ensuring consistent delivery of products and services across all Canlan Sports complexes.
- Ensures that camps and educational programs are accessible, relevant, fun, and provide a clear pathway for participants to move into subsequent Canlan programming.
- Works with sports complex teams, the centralized programs team, and the Product Manager to: Develop a product mix for each location; Build out requisite programs; Manage CRM platforms in their designated areas (e.g. Dash, Salesforce); and provide necessary reports as required.
- Works with the Manager, Instructor Development to ensure that programs are delivered by qualified instructors with proper instructor to participant ratios, and a primary focus on customer experience.
- Focus on innovation and a constant drive to improve the status quo with a focus on ensuring customers have the best possible experience with Canlan Sports. Provides leadership in the adoption of new technology to enhance customer experience, stream-line processes, and continue to build upon our value proposition.
- Youth Programs + Participation
- Under the guidance of the Product Manager, develops a marketing and communications plan that aligns with the overall goals of the centralized programs team, while ensuring that youth programs are supported with timely, relevant campaigns in each region.
- Works with the Product Manager and centralized team to identify opportunities for new camp and clinic programming, as well as identifying and building relationships with new educational partners to enhance Canlan’s suite of programming.
- Has the ability to proactively identify and seek out new participation opportunities and revenue streams.
- Works to create, develop, and maintain strategic partnerships in their designated area.
- Customer Relationship Development
- Works closely with centralized programs team and sports complex staff to develop a customer-focused culture that differentiates Canlan’s camps and educational programs from competitors.
- Works closely with the centralized team to develop and share best practices, while prioritizing the need to have a consistent customer experience at all Canlan sports complexes.
- Decision Making + Management
- Ensures that remuneration is provided to any vendors, partners, or independent contractors as necessary.
