Responsibilities:

- Oversee and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food production, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with the management team to plan menus and create new dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Assist in the preparation of special events, such as banquets and catering functions
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hotel or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food production techniques and kitchen operations
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of bartending and coffee preparation is a plus
- Assistant manager experience is preferred

**JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Coach and motivate staff during games and events
- Supervise and direct the prompt, efficient and friendly serving of all food
- Work quickly and independently to resolve operational issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow up with Chef/FOH Managers
- Control inventory within assigned area to ensure the smooth operation of the unit
- Participate in all fields of administrative work including but not limited to: opening/closing duties, cleaning checklists, tracking sales and service statistics nightly, performance reviews, and maintenance logs
- Monitor and manage product quality
- Assist in the training and development of staff
- Adhere to all Spectra service standards and policies including Health & Safety
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- 1-3 years experience as a supervisor
- Solid understanding and practical knowledge of kitchen business principles and service etiquette
- Effective team management experience
- A proactive approach toward day-today activities and shifting demands
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and wine
- Competent with POS
- An aptitude for identifying and assessing details
- Exceptional interpersonal, and communication skills
- Proven to perform well under pressure; manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- An ongoing awareness and responsiveness to client satisfaction
- Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- Confident using Excel, Word and Microsoft Office

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 12-25 per week

**Salary**: $15.50-$24.02 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Oshawa, ON L1H 1J8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve (preferred)

Shift availability:

- Night Shift (preferred)
- Day Shift (preferred)

Work Location: In person
