Ottawa Community Housing Corporation (OCH) is a landlord who provides 15,000 homes to 32,000 residents including seniors, parents, children, couples, singles and persons with special needs within many communities across the City of Ottawa. **SCOPE OF POSITION**
Reporting to the Manager, Total Compensation and HR Policy, the Human Resources Assistant will support a wide range of Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits, Wellness, Disability Management, and Health and Safety activities and initiatives.
**MAIN DUTIES**
- Assist with tasks to support various HR programs including compensation and benefits, wellness, disability management, and health and safety related areas
- Assist with the administrative tasks related to Human Resources such as filing and tracking of initiatives and programs
- Conduct research to assist in the development of policies and procedures related to human resources, disability management and health and safety
- Support the coordination of various employee events, training, workshops, and seminars
- Provide general support to the Human Resources team
- Assist with the recruitment and selection process by scheduling interviews, assisting in the interview creation, and preparing interview packages

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Completed a minimum of two (2) years of a Commerce or Business undergraduate degree with a focus in Human Resources.
- Previous experience in an office environment is an asset
- Oral fluency, reading and writing abilities in English are essential.
- Oral, reading and written fluency in French is an asset.
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices and theories.
- Excellent research, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced abilities with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Able to work well independently and to complete projects and tasks in a timely manner.

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to work full-time from May to August 2023 and part-time during all other months of the year
- Must be between 15-30 years of age
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check
