**Role & Responsibilities**:

- ** Manage customer accounts**: An accounts receivable clerk at a car dealership is responsible for managing customer accounts. This includes monitoring payments, tracking outstanding balances, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of all financial transactions.
- ** Collections and follow-ups**: The accounts receivable clerk plays a vital role in collections, following up with customers who have overdue payments. This involves sending reminders, making phone calls, and negotiating payment plans to facilitate timely collection of outstanding debts.
- ** Reconciliation and reporting**: It is the responsibility of the accounts receivable clerk to reconcile customer accounts, ensuring that payments received match the invoices issued. They also prepare financial reports related to accounts receivable, such as aging reports and cash flow forecasts, which provide important insights into the dealership's financial health.
- ** Customer service**: As the point of contact for customers regarding their accounts, the accounts receivable clerk must provide excellent customer service. This includes promptly addressing customer inquiries, resolving any billing disputes, and maintaining positive relationships with customers to encourage timely payments.

Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)**:This measurable tracks the average number of days it takes for the accounts receivable clerk to collect payments from customers. A lower DSO indicates efficient collection processes and effective follow-up on overdue accounts.
- ** Collection Effectiveness Index (CEI)**:The CEI measures how successful the accounts receivable clerk is at collecting outstanding debts. It is calculated by dividing the total collections made during a specific period by the total amount of outstanding receivables. A higher CEI demonstrates the clerk's effectiveness in recovering payments.
- ** Aging of Receivables**: This measurable breaks down the outstanding accounts payable by the length of time they have been overdue. It provides insight into the clerk's ability to minimize the number of delinquent accounts and ensure prompt payment.
- ** Cash Flow Improvement**:The accounts receivable clerk's performance can be evaluated based on their contribution to improving the dealership's cash flow. This could be measured by comparing the average time it takes to convert accounts receivable into cash over different periods. A shorter cash conversion cycle indicates efficient collection processes.
- ** Customer Satisfaction**:Although less quantifiable, customer satisfaction is a crucial measure of the accounts receivable clerk's performance. This can be assessed through customer feedback, surveys, or ratings related to their experience with billing, invoicing, and payment processes. Positive feedback reflects the clerk's ability to provide excellent customer service and ensure a smooth payment experience.

- Accounting education or experience is not required but will be considered an asset
- Must be proficient and highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Proficient spoken and written English
- The ability to be punctual, reliable and meticulous
