As the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Risk Solutions Group you will head and guide the strategic execution of Cumis’ commercial risk solutions business for participating financial institutions including claims and underwriting operations supporting in-market insurance programs. These programs provide over a hundred Canadian Credit Unions with a wide array of commercial insurance coverages like P&C, D&O, fidelity bonding, as well as risk-related services like training and mitigation support. The AVP, Risk Solutions Group (RSG) operates nimbly, directing the underwriting and claims management of RSG insurance policies, drives the development and execution of the client experience model ensuring client engagement, retention, and growth, and collaboratively partnering with policyholders and stakeholders.

**How you will create impact**:

- Establishing in collaboration with P&C management team strategic plans and overseeing the implementation of unit goals, priorities, policies and objectives that drive operational effectiveness and supports organizational growth, profitability and loss prevention.
- Directing the development and implementation of innovative RSG related products and services, as well as the underwriting, claims, risk management services and operational strategies required to meet the company’s long-term strategic plans.
- Utilizing business acumen to create and deliver the annual Operational Business Plan, revenue plan, loss ratio plan, and Risk Management Plan that clearly define specific targets.
- Maintaining, managing, and developing programs, systems and portfolio for the Credit Union industry’s flagship P&C and bonding programs, including pricing, benchmarking and competitive and profitability analysis
- Refining and managing the Risk Management strategy, program and procedures.
- Monitoring the external environment, developing key relationships, and evaluating potential partnerships and outsourcing opportunities, and leading change for identified opportunities.
- Leading product review for the P&C Products of the CUMIS Group, including product and pricing strategy. Identify opportunities to enhance coverages or develop new services as required by market conditions and execute against them.
- Leading and engaging your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying, and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

**To join our team**:

- You have 10 years of progressive experience in Underwriting or Risk Management, including some working experience in Commercial Underwriting or Commercial Risk Solution Management ideally within the Financial Institution / Banking / Credit Union sector or within the corporate sector.
- You have a degree or diploma in Business Administration, Mathematical Sciences, or a related field of studies.
- You hold or are pursuing a CIP, FCIP, or Insurance Agency Licences certification.
- You have a deep knowledge of commercial insurance products. Having knowledge credit unions or Financial Institutions is an asset.
- You have demonstrated success in relationship management and managing complex escalations through to successful client-centric and business outcomes.
- You are an excellent communicator.
- You are an experienced people leader, well-skilled in leading teams to solve complex problems and operate innovatively in an engaged collaborative environment.
