As the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Information Security Governance, you'll be at the forefront of overseeing the evolution of cyber security governance across the enterprise. Fostering a forward-thinking lens for cyber risk management, you will enhance and maintain a cyber security governance framework to integrate and scale with our future needs and foster enablement for our organizational strategic initiatives. You'll play a pivotal role in re-assessing our controls framework that will support our redesigned fit-for-purpose standards that all technology and business areas will strive to achieve through operational processes and procedures. Moreover, you will support meeting regulatory and client expectations in close collaboration with our enterprise risk functions. How you will create impact:

  1. Strategically guiding the enhancement, implementation, and maintenance of Information Security Governance, including policies, standards, guidelines, and best practices to support organizational initiatives and regulatory compliance.
  2. Staying abreast of the cyber threat landscape and implementing amendments to information security governance protocols.
  3. Overseeing gap assessments to our security policy, standards, and guidelines, and providing expertise and support for internal and external information security audits, regulatory assessments, and/or organizational certifications.
  4. Partnering collaboratively with stakeholders to support a “security by design” culture aligned with business objectives and adherence to information security policy, standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  5. Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Information Security Governance strategic roadmap as a cog to support the overall Enterprise Information Security strategy.
  6. Elevating audience-centric learning practices and evolving Information Security Governance through education and on current and emerging cyber threats and opportunities.
  7. Leading and engaging your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

  1. You initiate new strategies to capitalize on opportunities and lead the implementation of organizational change.
  2. You integrate complex information to identify solutions or solve problems and apply a strategic mindset to adjust business plans.

To join our team:

  1. You have 8+ years of progressive Information Security experience, including multi-year experience in cyber governance.
  2. You have completed a diploma or degree in Technology or a related field.
  3. You hold or are pursuing a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
  4. You have expertise in security risk management practices and implementation, including in-depth developing complex fit-for-purpose cyber governance frameworks and plans.
  5. You have a strong knowledge of key concepts of regulatory requirements and information security management frameworks (e.g. OSFI CSSA, PCI, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST).
  6. You have knowledge of technology infrastructure and operations, as well as security technology and techniques (such as firewall, IDS, Anti-Virus, SIEM, DLP, etc), their capabilities and associated management requirements.
  7. You are an experienced people leader, well-skilled in leading teams to deliver and operate innovatively in an engaged environment.

  1. Detail oriented work that requires frequent mental concentration for extended periods of time.
  2. You will travel occasionally.
  3. As a leader, strict confidentiality is required with respect to sensitive matters and employees’ personal information.
  4. You will be subject to a background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
  5. Proficiency in English is essential to the main duties in this role, including servicing and communicating primarily with majority non-francophone clients, groups, teams. Drafting complex English documents and preparing daily reports for anglophone leaders. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
