Works with Pharmaceutical Development Services (PDS), which provides proposals for product development/scale-up/registration manufacturing services to our pharmaceutical clients. Is responsible for the generation of workbook for costing on projects, either for ongoing project expansions or for new business opportunities. The incumbent will be involved with review and interpretation of technical information from the PDS technical team to prepare the Quotations for Account Executives and Patheon Clients.

**A Day in the Life**:

- Responsible for generating workbook for costing on projects and WORD proposals for new business or project expansion opportunities.
- Ensures completion of all quote activities including revisions in a timely manner.
- Works with technical team to determine approach and scope of project.
- Issues 3-4 new quotes of varying degree of difficulty per week independently.
- Updates SFDC reports and records.
- Participates in client meetings or conference calls.
- Provides assistance to Managers and Director.
- Provides project tracking reports to Senior Management as required (Quarterly reports).

**Keys to Success**

**Education**:

- Bachelors in Commerce or BSc

**Experience**:

- 3+ years pharmaceutical industry experience preferred areas include product development, project management, manufacturing, regulatory or quality assurance
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Working knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development processes.
- Experience in either business development or work-experience in technical writing or quotations.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Detail-oriented.
- Proficiency with the English language.

Follow all Environmental Health & Safety Policies and Procedures. Carry out all duties within strict compliance to Patheon quality systems SOP's and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Maintain workspace in a clean and orderly fashion. Actively engage in and adhere to departmental systems in order to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow (visual management, scheduling systems, etc.). Be client and patient conscious at all times. Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and strive to improve the performance of the team by identifying areas for system improvements and engage in problem solving. Models positive thinking and is open to change, motivating the team to adapt to shifts in priorities and new ways of working. Proactively identify areas for improvement in the execution of procedures. Communicate risks to timelines in a proactive manner. Consistently strives to improve skills and knowledge in related field.

**Physical Requirements**:
Light physical effort and fatigue. Walks, sits or stands for limited periods. May require occasional equipment operation including keyboard equipment. Lifts light items for limited duration. Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odours, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights. Use of Personal Protective equipment may be required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator on occasionally.
