Job Summary: This is a growth role for the organization. As contributing member of the HR team, you will play a vital role in supporting our organization and its employees by fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. **_You will be responsible for supporting the Sr. HR Advisors, and HR Manager on important daily transactional activities_**. This role requires exceptional skills in managing the ongoing HR initiatives in a Union environment.

***Key Responsibilities:

- Manage the HR inbox to ensure timely responses to our team members.
- Provide input and support towards the development and implementation of new or revised HR initiatives, programs, and procedures/processes.
- Review new hire and employee change documentation and update employee files.
- Adhere to all applicable federal and provincial regulations and company policies.
- Support the Senior HR Advisors, HR Manager and other directors on time-sensitive issues.
- Excellent time management. Able to change priorities smartly.
- Own daily, weekly and monthly actions for various HR deadlines.
- Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.
- Own your job, bring forward ideas to help solve issues and make improvements for the benefit of the business.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in human resources leadership roles, with a specific focus on employee relations, performance management, and training. **Union experience is required.**:

- Solid computer skills. Intermediate Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent understanding of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Superb interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive discussions and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of ATS, (ADP is an advantage).
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to manage a small team of HR/Payroll to ensure consistency of HR practices are fulfilled across the company.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
This industry requires empathy for and an understanding of the needs of seniors and requires **a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check.** This position is a fast-paced, challenging working environment and requires the ability to deal with competing priorities and using one’s professional discernment to understand where the focus needs to be when being pulled in several directions.
