- Scale Minimum Maximum- NONU $41.80/hr $50.16/hr**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide day to day (24x7) technical system support for the Picture Archiving and Communications Systems
(PACS) and all integrated systems.

- Includes image/modality workflow and management, hospital PACS workflow and management.
- Provide communication, training, and support to all users to ensure optimal effective use of PACS technology.

**Technical**:

- Implement and manage a daily workflow for data integrity including processes that identify integration
- Meditech HIS/RIS, Powerscribe, modalities within Diagnostic Imaging.
- Develop and maintain HL7 interfaces.
- Establish and implement quality control measures for DI modalities that ensure image storage and
- transfers to PACS and Meditech are in place.
- Co-ordinate any/all vendor related activities related to PACS and associated DI modalities-not limited
- to maintenance but to include software upgrades/patches, replacement of components, daylight
- savings time collaborative initiative.
- Liaise with clinical informatics and broader hospital IT team.
- Modality Integration
- complete testing and implementation of new equipment integrated to PACS,
- review of service and support structure.
- Network connectivity management
- co-ordination of cabling infrastructure, IP address assignment,
- system configuration assignment, documentation, any associated troubleshooting.
- Technical troubleshooting to solve issues from all stakeholders via response from PACS assigned
- pager. Includes visual hardware checks, password/access reassignment, reallocation of peripheral
- equipment, co-ordination, and communication of downtime.
- Maintaining system stability and security through daily checks and processes: specific UNIX protocol
- commands, audits, tape changes, storage monitoring, visual hardware checks in data centre and in
- department.
- Extensive knowledge of Radiologist PACS workstations and display protocol building for specific users.
- Plan, implement and lead downtime strategies to ensure continuity of services.
- Mentor, train, and support PACS support team.

**Clinical/Business**
- Manages established objectives and priorities for corporate Enterprise Image Management.
- Provides ongoing training and support for the system users.
- Participation in the strategic planning of all PACS related initiatives-hospital expansion, functional
- program analysis and impacts to PACS, long term system growth and storage, further clinical
- Assist in developing and implementation and ensuring adherence to established PACS policy and procedures.
- Executing quality assurance program for users by evaluations/needs/workflow assessments. Implement new hardware, peripheral aids, access points internal and external to facilitate optimal use.
- Extensive knowledge of Radiologist Diagnostic Workstation and customized display protocol building for multiple specific users.
- Establishing different downtime procedures for different scenarios, e.g. PACS down, Meditech down, and executing the correct downtime procedure when required.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- University degree or college diploma in engineering, computer science or related field required.
- Requires at least (5) years healthcare environment experience in systems support, business and systems analysis, and management of small projects
- Project Management experience
- Project implementation experience, team or individual
- Must have staff supervisory experience
- Evidence of continuous education related to PACS
- IT network and database management knowledge
- IS systems building and testing knowledge
- Knowledge of DICOM and HL7
- Knowledge of hospital workflow
- Demonstrated success in building, implementing, and supporting a Hospital Information System (HIS) - Electronic Patient Record (EPR)
- Experience with various programming languages
- Requires sound oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks with multiple clients under tight deadlines
- Solid knowledge of hospital process and systems
- Demonstrated experience of DICOM and HL7 specifications communication standards in medicine
- Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining HL7
