Terrain Park Supervisor
**Who We Are**:
Nestled in the southwestern corner of Alberta, in the rugged and legendary Canadian Rockies, Castle is as authentic as it gets. Hard-working, hospitable, and here for the powder is what we’re all about. With less than 200 employees we’re a small, passionate team of winter enthusiasts. Here, we’re all family and you will quickly find you are right at home. If this sounds like you, then we want you to join us.
Our resort is not owned or operated by a large ski conglomerate; rather by a bunch of local skiers and riders who are passionate about steep terrain and great snow. Operational decisions are made here (head office = the basement of the day lodge) and our long-term direction is plotted by a group of passionate, volunteer board of directors who represent more than 200, predominately local shareholders.
**Position Overview**:
Reporting to the Snow School Director, the Terrain Park Supervisor is responsible for the construction, daily maintenance and implementation of the approved terrain park design.
**What we offer you**:
- Opportunity to work in the beautiful Southern Alberta Rocky Mountains
- Full mountain ski/snowboard pass
- Several employee discounts around the resort
- $18.20 and up depending on experience and number of years worked at CMR
**Job Duties**:
- Opening and Closing the terrain parks
- Scheduling and posting a terrain park schedule of staff according to budget
- Purchasing supplies and materials as approved and budgeted
- Providing input into the approved terrain park design
- Keeping supervisor updated on park construction and maintenance regularly
- Coordinate with grooming for park needs
- Act as a guide and ambassador to the Castle Mountain Experience
- Train and supervise all terrain park staff
- Coordinate with Events department to ensure smooth operation of events in terrain park.
**Position Requirements**:
- Understanding of Terrain Park Design and Construction
- Park-scapers Certification or Resort Management Program - terrain park course considered an asset
- Experience in a leadership position considered an asset
- Experience in an alpine resort similar to Castle Mountain
- Avalanche training preferred
- Physically fit and able to work with shovel and other hand tools in an alpine environment required.
- Weekend, Evening and Overtime as required.
**Hiring Process**:
- Interviews will begin in August with a start date in late November.
- Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
**Please note: Employees in supervisory and management positions are required to find their own accommodation on-site or in a nearby town.**
**Where We Are**:
Castle Mountain Resort is located at the end of Highway 774, near Pincher Creek, AB. This is a remote work location with no mobile coverage or public transit. There is a communal living Staff Accommodation building on-site for new and returning non-supervisory, seasonal employees. More information on our location and our resort can be found at skicastle.ca
