**ASSOCIATE UNDERWRITER**

Acera is looking for an ambitious, engaging experienced Associate Underwriter to join our team.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Create and distribute tasks to the team through our broker management system;
- Assist in creating proposed terms including optional coverage for clients and prospects;
- Process new business, renewal, endorsement and cancellation documents;
- Assist in the management of renewal lists and information trackers;
- Transact premiums and reconcile any accounting discrepancies;
- Request and follow up for risk information on behalf of the underwriters;
- Set up meeting agendas and take detailed minutes of team meetings as required;
- Create and send underwriting team updates to sales and broking teams as required;
- Cultivate strong knowledge of markets and our contracts’ appetites to write certain risks;
- Work to ensure an exceptional customer experience;
- All other miscellaneous duties and special projects as required.

**Location and Status**:
Victoria, BC

Permanent full-time employment (35 hrs/week)

Hours: 9 - 5pm

**Qualifications**:

- Efficiency in the Microsoft Office suite; especially excel is required;
- 1 - 3 years Commercial Insurance Experience considered an asset;
- Previous Administrative Experience considered an asset;
- University Degree or Professional Insurance Designation - CAIB/CRM/CIP considered an asset;
