The Security Specialist is accountable for the development, enhancement and ensuring compliance of the Edmonton Airports Security program including providing direct management and oversight of all Security related contracts & stakeholder relationships. This position also Assists YEG’s Director of Security in the Development, promotion and auditing of EA’s Public Safety Program as it relates to security and will act on behalf YEG for the resolution of all Security and Safety Related matters that may arise. This position will provide oversight and utilization of YEG’s Security systems. The Security Specialist will strive to meet all airport and customer expectations ensuring security and public safety operational effectiveness. This position is accountable for ensuring, managing and auditing all relevant security regulatory programs that align with Transport Canada Regulations and engaging cooperation with Transport Canada Officials regarding regulatory requirements.

Le ou la spécialiste en sécurité est responsable de l’élaboration, de l’amélioration et de la conformité du programme de sécurité d’Edmonton Airports, y compris de la gestion directe et de la supervision de tous les contrats liés à la sécurité et des relations avec les intervenant-e-s. La personne retenue pour ce poste assiste également le ou la directeur-rice de la sécurité de YEG dans l’élaboration, la promotion et l’audit du programme de sécurité publique d’EA en ce qui concerne la sécurité et représente YEG dans la résolution de tout problème lié à la sécurité et à la sûreté. À cette fonction, la personne retenue veille à la supervision et à l’utilisation des systèmes de sécurité de YEG. Le ou la spécialiste en sécurité s’efforcera de satisfaire aux attentes de l’aéroport et de la clientèle et d’assurer l’efficacité opérationnelle de la sécurité et de la sûreté publique. La personne titulaire de cette fonction est chargée de veiller à tous les programmes réglementaires de sécurité pertinents, de les gérer et de les vérifier conformément aux règlements de Transports Canada ainsi que de coopérer avec la haute direction de Transports Canada en ce qui concerne les exigences réglementaires.
- oversee and be the accountable representative regarding Security Awareness Training for all stakeholder on behalf of YEG
- responsible for the Effectiveness of Threat Risk Vulnerability Assessment training, effectiveness and partner with the Director to ensure compliance throughout the terminal.
- Provide oversight and support to security related contactors in day to day operation & audits.
- Utilization and review of complex security systems
- Coordinate Corporate Keys and Access Control ensuring that access control devices are controlled in accordance with relative policies
- YEG representative providing Security Operations Control Centre oversight of day to day operations
- Collaborate and liaise with YEG stakeholders regarding daily operations
- Provide oversight of YEG’s Security systems such as Access Control, CCTV, Identifications and Person Traps; not only ensure systems are operating but has the ability, to enhance and seek out more effective systems on behalf of YEG.
- Lead evolving Primary Security Line Partners Plan and Airport Tennant Security Plan
- Operational oversight of the YEG Airport Security Program to ensure Edmonton Airports is in Full Compliance with Transport Canada Security Regulations

- Superviser et appuyer les intervenant-e-s en sécurité dans leurs activités quotidiennes et leurs audits.
- Utiliser et vérifier des systèmes de sécurité complexes
- Coordonner les systèmes de clés et de contrôle d’accès de l’entreprise et veiller à contrôler les dispositifs de contrôle d’accès conformément aux politiques en vigueur.
- Représenter YEG et assurer la supervision des activités quotidiennes du centre de contrôle des activités de sécurité.
- Collaborer et tisser des liens avec les intervenant-e-s de YEG en matière d’activités quotidiennes.
- Superviser les systèmes de sécurité de YEG comme le contrôle d’accès, la télévision en circuit fermé (CCTV), les systèmes d’identification et les sas de sécurité : veiller au bon fonctionnement des systèmes, mais aussi être en mesure d’améliorer et de rechercher des systèmes plus efficaces pour YEG.
