Lead Quotations Specialist

Richmond Hill, Canada STL Lighting Group Full time

Developing accurate and timely project quotations in accordance with customer specifications and deadlines.
- Successfully negotiate with our customers and manufacturer partners

The incumbent shall have the following attributes. He/she shall be a:

- Have a strong existing network of contacts amongst GTA Electrical Distributors
- Previous experience working with Oasis (preferred)

**Responsibilities**:

- Have an in-depth understanding of the product lines we represent, as well as other products to provide strategic and accurate proposals.
- Communicate with customers to ensure expectations are met and provide suggestions for alternative products and services.
- Provide expert guidance to sales team on product selection and product strategies.
- Continually expand your comprehensive understanding of the products being quoted.
- Communicate with manufacturers to discuss product solutions, pricing requirements, and general project needs.
- Coordinate with outside sales/spec sales teams as required.
- Follow up on bids/buys expected and participate in company trainings to enhance product knowledge.
- Maintain a good understanding of the market and the products we represent, how they fit into a pricing scheme, and how they function related to a specification.
- Pay attention to detail while thoroughly reviewing the specifications and building quotes accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as project managers and engineers, to ensure accurate and complete bids.
- Work under pressure with deadlines and manage them in a professional manner.
- Act as a primary contact for key customer accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships.

**Essential Skills**:

- Experience in the lighting industry.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, upbeat attitude.
- Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office products, and Dropbox.
- Willingness to learn proprietary software.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to organize & manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Ability to consistently achieve superior results working in a fast-paced environment and under the pressure of tight time requirements.
- Experience in providing answers that require the ability to understand technical information and details.
- Technical aptitude, including the ability to read blueprints, schematics, and reading a lighting schedule is a major plus.
- Ability to work independently and at a fast pace.

**Preferred Skills**:

- Familiarity with industry estimating software such as Oasis or others.
- Proficient in mental percentage calculations
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing quotes for manufacturers or distributors.

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

Work Location: Hybrid remote in RICHMOND HILL, ON
