Etobicoke, Canada Caring Connections Counselling Full time

Our company is hiring four Counsellors/Social Workers to improve the mental and emotional health of our clients; develop effective plans to improve quality of life; provide guidance, and advocate for clients. These two positions are in-person and virtual at our Toronto office at Islington and Bloor St. West. The Counsellor’s responsibilities include assessing an individual’s situation, and putting forward a plan to work with them towards their goals. You will provide individual, family or couple counselling. A demonstrated understanding of the diverse aspects of human behavior is essential for this role. We are looking for a highly motivated person who can effectively communicate with individuals at all levels. You will be expected to be computer proficient to independently schedule clients, bill for services and manage a hybrid caseload using the Jane scheduling software. Counsellors should be interested in growing an ongoing client base in a small practice.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide psychological counseling to individuals, families, couples and small groups.
- Assess and diagnose clients' issues using a variety of therapeutic interventions.
- Help clients implement changes in behavior or thinking to facilitate healing and growth.
- Provide referrals for community service programs for those in need of services beyond what the counsellor can provide.
- Cultivate strong professional relationships with other mental health professionals.
- Maintain complete and accurate records related to sessions with patients.
- Maintain an open and supportive environment by establishing positive rapport with clients.
- Engage in ongoing continuing education to keep abreast with the most current methods in the field.
- Compile reports and maintain client records as needed.

Those with previous experience and/or a Master of Social Work degree will be given preference.
