**Role Summary**:
The Product Strategy Team is seeking a dynamic and agile thinker for our Market Analyst position. The Market Analyst, located in our Waterloo office, will be responsible for providing data and insights on various markets we serve, through either market research and/or analysis of secondary sources. This person will be part of a highly motivated, fast-paced energetic Product Management Team focused on developing market-driven solutions for our OEM customers. They will help identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the company’s target markets. They will liaison and collaborate with not only various functional groups internally, but also industry professionals and information sources externally, to achieve objectives and maintain the consistent and timely provision of market insights and recommendations. This position will be on a hybrid model, with generally 2-3 days in the office.

**Scope of Responsibilities**:

- Partner with Strategic Product Managers to identify priority research projects for core markets, determining scope and output requirements, with a focus on product development efforts.
- Execute extensive research using internal and external databases to identify and report on market trends, as well as author and review commercial reports and survey results.
- Analyze markets in multiple regions, drawing comparisons as well as differences to ensure a comprehensive understanding of global opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with our competitive intelligence team, sales and marketing team, and account management teams, to collect and analyze data on customer behaviour, demographics, and preferences to help inform product development strategies.
- Develop an understanding of key commercial trends across major markets and maintain awareness of the evolution of key markets on a global and regional scale over time.
- Utilize expertise to interpret qualitative feedback and quantitative data to draw conclusions, and to develop strategic recommendations for Product Management of potential unmet needs and growth opportunities.
- Create reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management, sales, and other functions beyond product management.
- Communicate output clearly and craft messages that resonate with each audience based on their role and level of context, cadence, and process to be determined.
- Support financial modeling of new product development projects, providing input.
- Develop and maintain databases to organize market data.
- Update and maintain master market knowledge decks.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry events and meetings; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking best practices.
- Manage market research vendor relationships and coordinate research projects as needed.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional role with geographically dispersed teams.

**Education and Professional Qualifications**:

- 5 - 8 years of experience in market analytics, market research, and/or product management.
- 5 - 8 years of experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical or healthcare industries.
- Minimum undergraduate/bachelor’s degree, business preferred but not required.
- Excellent research, (qualitative/quantitative), and analytical skills.
- Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Highly organized, keen attention to detail, excellent time management and an ability to juggle multiple projects.
- Self-starter, and goal-oriented with a track record of results.
- Is flexible and familiar with fast-paced, high-growth environments where priorities may shift with good reason.

**Desired Characteristics/Additional Assets**:

- Financial modeling skills preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills, including report composition, and presentation of project results to senior professionals and company executives.
