The main purpose of a CNC operator is to operate and control CNC machines to produce precise and accurate parts and components as per the specifications provided. CNC operators play a crucial role in the manufacturing process as they are responsible for setting up the machines, loading raw materials, and monitoring the operations to ensure that the machines function correctly and produce high-quality output.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with the CNC programmer to optimize production processes, ensure efficient workflow, and ensure desired specifications and quality standards are met.
- Set up CNC machine by selecting and installing appropriate tools and fixtures.
- Operate CNC machine following established procedures and guidelines.
- Load raw materials into the machine and inspect them for defects or inconsistencies.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed.
- Inspect finished products to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues, make adjustments or report problems to supervisors.
- Keep records of production output, machine maintenance, and any incidents or malfunctions.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
- Monitor tool wear and replace cutting tools as necessary to maintain consistent quality and precision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.

**Educational Requirements**
- Technical training or certification in CNC machine operation is also preferred.

**skills/specific experience**
- 1-2 years of working experience as a CNC operator an asset.
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
- Familiarity with CNC machine operation and setup.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality output.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine mechanics.
- Identifying and addressing any issues or malfunctions that may arise during the machining process.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to keep the CNC machine in good working condition.
