**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
As an A/V Technician, you are responsible for the preparation, operation and care of lighting, video and/or audio equipment used in productions at our venues. You may specialize in one or more of these fields, but as part of the A/V team, will acquire and demonstrate competence in the use of our portfolio of A/V equipment in a live production environment. You will plan, program and execute your assigned elements of the production before and during events produced at our venues. You are responsible for maintaining an accurate audit of inventory within our venues, ensuring that equipment is operational and available at point of need. Alongside the Technical Operations Manager, you will coordinate repairs, rentals, special requests and inventory management as needed to meet venue requirements. You will partner with artists and clients to understand production goals and the overall vision, executing to the best of your ability. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Operates audio visual equipment during live shows including audio, lighting and video operation using various consoles or mixers
- Consults event advances and calendar, noting needs of upcoming productions
- Applies technical knowledge of equipment and venue to achieve the determined artistic objectives
- Prepares and programs assigned elements of the production prior to the start of the event
- Communicates with the General Manager and Tech Ops Manager regarding inventory and production needs
- Maintains a clean and organized work and equipment storage area
- Updates Tech Hub: Inventory as needed (AirTable)
- Participates in the installation of seasonal/special event decor
- Assists in regular maintenance of all production equipment
- Participates in special projects as assigned as appropriate to skillset and scope of role
- On-site troubleshooting and problem solving
- Works within all audio visual departments including audio, video, lighting, rigging and staging

**REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Familiarity with A/V signal flow
- Familiarity with lighting, video and/or audio production software
- Familiarity with live events production equipment and/or DJ equipment
- Ability to perform setup, operation and troubleshooting of basic audio-visual equipment
- Dexterity on lighting, video, and/or audio control surfaces
- At least 1 years’ production experience in live entertainment venues or similar environment
- Demonstrable problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
- Ability to act as the onsite technical liaison
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve
- Client/customer orientation - works to achieve the best experience possible

**PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:

- Progressive experience installing and maintaining complex Audio-Visual systems in a commercial environment
- Proficiency in lighting, video and/or audio production software
- Capacity to troubleshoot software, hardware and electrical issues as they may arise before/during productions
- MIDI programming competency
