Lions Housing Centres own and operate housing and care facilities to provide accommodations for adult citizens. We provide support that looks at the whole person, not just their mental health needs but consider their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.

Job Profile:
Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager (HRM) will be responsible for the development of human resources policies, programs and procedures, planning, recruitment and selection, compensation and pension benefits, collective bargaining, training and development, occupation classification and pay and benefit administration. The HRM will represent management and participate actively on various joint committees to maintain ongoing labour relations with health and safety, management, employees, or unions.

Your education and qualifications include:

- Human Resources Degree
- CPHR Designation
- 5 years - Experience in a unionized environment which includes: employee/labour relations, leading complex investigations, performance management, administrating and/or supporting the payroll and benefits function.
- Demonstrable experience in all areas of Human Resources Management.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements such as Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act, Privacy Act, Manitoba Human Rights Code, Workers Compensation Act, Manitoba Labour Standards Act, Labour Relations Act, etc.
- Proficient with standard office computer technology such as MS Office, Teams, Internet, Outlook, Excel, Power-Point.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with effective written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong researching, decision-making, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conducts workplace investigations and recommends/implements corrective action as required, prepares materials in support of grievances and arbitrations, and conducts stage one grievance meetings.
- Leading the grievance process and preparation for mediation/arbitration is required.
- Developing, implementing, and training others in HR related systems and programs for use throughout the organization.
- Advise and assist managers on the interpretation and administration of the collective agreement, policies, programs, and best practices.
- Develop, recommend, and implement Human Resource policies and procedures including recruitment, health and safety, compensation, etc.
- Inform employees about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion.
- Provide research and advice on all Human Resource issues.
- Completes required reports for WRHA and Shared Health.
- Oversees the benefit and pension plans for employees, including enrollment, orientation, changes, termination, and scheduling.
- Provides all departments with up-to-date training records and maintains accurate training files for Human Resources and Health & Safety.
- Update Supervisors/Management on new legislation and ensure the facility is compliant with Manitoba’s Workplace Safety and Health Act and internal policies and procedures.
