Maksteel **_powered by_** UPG is looking for a Credit Manager to support our Credit/Risk team. The position will support our Credit team for our Canada facility. This position is to engage, manage and work directly to improve the activities of the Credit Department for the organization. Create a credit risk management environment of an acceptable quality, in terms of established credit guidelines, developing and enforcing acceptable credit policies, analyze delinquent accounts and prepare report on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. This position will report to the Director of Treasury, Risk and Credit & Collections.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead, develop, and administer all credit and collections policies and programs. Department manages customer onboarding, credit monitoring, and collections.
- Continuously seek out new ways to automate, streamline, or eliminate tasks in the credit department to improve processes and reduce costs.
- Regular review of various receivable aging reports to identify accounts that require follow up communication.
- Manage credit team members on collection efforts. Research, document and resolve outstanding issues and balances. Resolve escalated collection issues. Interface with customer and sales team to assist in collections as required.
- Ensure accounts receivable balances are maintained at appropriate levels for the economic environment and business situation.
- Consult with management and appropriate staff on complex collections and/or deduction situations requiring extraordinary efforts to resolve.
- Develop reporting and analytics for senior management to monitor risk, collection activities, and trends. Provide reporting on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution.
- Establish and maintain external business/industry relationships including attorneys, collection agencies, credit bureaus and other credit associations.
- Coach, develop, and motivate team members.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

**Position Requirements**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related quantitative discipline required
- 7-10 years of credit/collections or equivalent combination of experience.
- Strong work ethic geared toward enacting change and a “whatever it takes” mentality, understanding there is meaningful opportunity to have an impact on the business
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Tableau and other data visualization tools is a plus
