CNL’s Academic Partnerships Program strives to develop closer relationship with partner universities to develop a nuclear focused talent pipeline, support thriving research collaborations and enable sharing of science infrastructure and expertise.
The University Collaboration Lead will assist in developing novel and impactful programs that strategically target development of undergraduate and graduate level talent in Science & Technology areas of Clean Energy, Health, Environment and Safety & Security and expand collaborative research opportunities. The Lead will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the programs to achieve objectives while seeking input to continuously improve the programs. Working with CNL researchers, management and Universities, the Lead will identify opportunities, and novel mechanisms, for meaningful engagement with students and universities.

**DUTIES**
- Assist in the development of programs to advance collaborative R&D and create a future pipeline of high quality talent for CNL, mainly with the Science & Technology Organization
- Work with stakeholders to identify priority areas where talent is needed and develop strategies to attract the talent.
- Design programs to develop, attract and engage with high quality talent at the university partners, coordinating with internal CNL teams to achieve goals. This may involve developing new tools to maintain and monitor relationships.
- Design program objectives for engagement of high quality talent. This may involve developing workshops and other learning opportunities.
- Assist in the development of programs to enhance talent and expertise sharing
- Work with stakeholders to design programs to promote visiting scientists and students, post-doctoral fellows and adjunct professors
- Implement and monitor programs to meet objectives
- Set goals and objectives for the talent pipeline programs aligned with S&T and CNL objectives
- Lead implementation of programs developed to attract talent and coordinate activities and programs with internal stakeholders
- Provide input to and implement strategies and programs to promote research and development activities between the university, institution and CNL. This involves working with stakeholders to identify priority research areas of focus, connecting CNL researchers with university partners, developing partnerships with other institutions, and securing funding for research projects.
- Promoting research and development activities with CNL’s collaboration partners. This may involve organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops, and working with researchers, faculty and staff to promote research and development opportunities.
- Monitor the progress of the programs and evaluate their effectiveness to determine whether they achieve their goals and objectives. This may involve collecting data, analyzing program outcomes, and making recommendations for program improvements
- Report to senior management on the progress of the programs providing updates on their activities and outcomes.
- Continuously improve programs through feedback mechanisms

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- University Bachelor’s Degree, Masters or PhD in science or engineering an asset.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in program development and implementation, preferably in a highly technical and scientific or academic environment. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced relationship management skills. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with individuals across a highly technical organization and with external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.

**Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.**
