**Accessibility Coordinator**

**About the Role**:
As the Accessibility Coordinator at Stenberg College, you will play a crucial role in championing inclusivity and ensuring compliance with accessibility standards mandated by Canadian legislation. You will be responsible for tailoring accessibility plans to support students with needs.

**Location**: Surrey, BC & Remote

**Employment Type**: Contract, Part time, 15 hours per week

**What You Will Do**:

- Promptly and compassionately respond to accommodation requests, tailoring plans based on assessments and individual needs.
- Evaluate the accessibility status of campus facilities and provide recommendations for enhancements.
- Identify patterns and opportunities for accessibility resources, software, or practices that would require less ad-hoc support (universal design).
- Serve as our Disability Coordinator Student Advocate at resource funding meetings.
- Develop comprehensive plans to enhance space accessibility both on-campus and for remote work environments.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness of accessibility issues and promote inclusive practices.
- Stay informed about developments in accessibility laws and provide guidance to college leadership.

**Who You Are**:

- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
- Prior experience in accessibility services or related fields, preferably within an educational context.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations pertaining to accessibility.
- Comprehensive understanding of disability accommodation processes and universal design principles.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a knack for advocacy.
- Professionalism, empathy, and dedication to cultivating an inclusive environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and adeptness in communicating effectively with diverse populations.
