Henniges Automotive in Burlington, Ontario is currently seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator. **This is a 20-24 month contract position to cover a maternity leave.**

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Coordinate JHSC inspection activities and facilitate meetings, maintaining minutes and ensure all open issues are addressed in a timely fashion.
- Perform regular and unplanned safety inspections on a monthly basis, recording both findings and recommendations.
- Document, maintain and follow-up on all Behavioural Based Safety activities.
- Maintain valid MSDS/SDS for all controlled products on site.
- Review all accidents, incidents, and near misses and work with supervisory team on implementing corrective action recommendations and follow-up as required.
- Coordinate safety talk training opportunities.
- Manage WSIB claims timely submission of WSIB Form 7’s, identifying and managing modified work opportunities to fit individual functional abilities as part of our Early and Safe Return to Work Program, coordinate RTW meetings, etc.
- Report H&S metrics to head office
- Assist with other human resources projects and initiatives as required.
- Update H&S policies and procedures as needed, including but not limited to legislation and protocols, OHSA, etc.
- Deliver H&S orientation to new hires

Position Requirements:

- College or university coursework in health and safety, ergonomics, kinesiology or equivalent experience.
- Computer proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
