**Job Profile**:
We are looking for an experienced Planning Technician to join the Planning Services Division team, Community Development Department available immediately. The focus of this position will be to:
**What you will be doing**:

- Review and process Letters of Compliance by interpreting Zoning By-law, confirming Official Plan and Heritage designation status and Building Code compliance from Building Permit files.

**Education**:

- Two year College Diploma in Planning or Similar

**Experience and Knowledge**:
1-2 years related Planning experience. Possession of a current Certified Planning Technician designation or eligible for Registered Professional Planner along with a valid Drivers’ License is required.

**We will ask you for these items if you are hired**:

- Proof of your current and valid certificate(s) and/or educational qualifications.
Valid G driver's license.
Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training certificate from the Ministry of Labour. (may be obtained post offer)

**Your compensation**:
This position is within Grade 7 of the inside workers union Salary Schedule and has an annual salary range of $65,784 to $69,915. We offer a comprehensive benefit package and are an Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) employer.

**Hours of work**:
The current regular hours of work are in accordance with the collective agreement, however currently are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm., Monday to Friday; some evening hours are required
