**Job Description**:
The Communicative Disorders Assistant will work within the CHEO Audiology clinic, providing support to audiologists and auditory-verbal therapists.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist with audiological assessments and intervention under the supervision of an audiologist
- Assist with hearing device troubleshooting including: hearing aids, cochlear implants and FM systems
- Collect and document client outcome data and report information to the supervising audiologist/auditory-verbal therapist
- Assist with preparation, organization and maintenance of therapy materials and clinical supplies
- Participate in other duties as required by the PPL or Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- One year post-graduate Community College Communications Disorders Assistant Diploma (Essential)
- Knowledgeable regarding Guidelines for Supportive Personnel from the College of Audiologists and
- Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) (Essential)
- Minimum three (3) years of related, pediatric experience (Essential)
- Ability to troubleshoot hearing devices including: hearing aids, cochlear implants and FM systems (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and as a team player (Essential)
- Good organizational skills essential (Essential)
- Bilingualism (preferred)

RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES
- Apporter son aide lors des interventions et évaluations audiologiques sous la supervision d’un ou d’une audiologiste
- Aider à régler les problèmes en lien avec les appareils d’aide auditive ce qui comprend les prothèses auditives, les implants cochéaires et les systèmes de MF
- Recueillir et documenter les données sur les résultats et en informer les audiologistes/la thérapeute auditivo-verbale concernés
- Aider à préparer, organiser et entretenir le matériel qui sert à la thérapie ainsi que les fournitures cliniques
- Participer à d’autres tâches tel que requis par le CDP ou la directrice
QUALIFICATIONS
- Vérification du casier judiciaire (Essentiel)
- Une année d’études supérieures après obtention du diplôme collégial d’Assistant(e) en troubles de la communication (Essentiel)
- Connaissance des lignes directrices sur l’utilisation du personnel de soutien de l’Ordre des audiologistes et des orthophonistes de l’Ontario (OAOO) (Essentiel)
- Minimum de trois (3) ans d’expérience connexe en pédiatrie (Essentiel)
- Capacité de régler les problèmes en lien avec les appareils d’aide auditive ce qui comprend les prothèses auditives, les implants cochéaires et les systèmes de MF (Préférable)
- Capacité de travailler en autonomie et en équipe (Essentiel)
- Bonnes habiletés en organisation (Essentiel)
- Bilinguisme (Préférable)
