**The Role**

The Estimator / Project Manager is an essential position at our company. Within your role, you will help support our hardworking and high performing Construction Team and will work closely with our Construction Managers, Foremen, Sales Teams and Operations. You will be responsible for compiling, reviewing and categorizing required project information about upcoming potential bids. Working closely with our Sales Team, you will develop a Project Estimate consisting of the Project’s Scope, Cost, Schedule, etc. in order to frame the work our crews will be doing in the field.

**Responsibilities**
- Review proposal/bid specifications and drawings to determine Scope of Work and required contents of an estimate.
- Mark-up and red line, where necessary, proposal and bid documents
- Attend pre-bid meetings on site in order to determine bid size, scope, and complexity.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates
- Build detailed estimates and work descriptions in collaboration with Design and Sales teams
- Help build job binders in collaboration with our Inside Sales Team.
- Where necessary, assist in the delivery of tenders and attend bid openings.
- Assist in the closing of bids with all parties involved: Sales, Inside Sales, Construction, Project Management and Operations
- Offer input as to sources of potential risk and the implications that this risk presents to the final bid price.
- In conjunction with the entire Project Management team, ensure projects are: delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Work with Finance to ensure the appropriate cost codes are assigned to the activities within bids that are priced to our clients.
- Assist in the change order and charge back process to both our suppliers and clients.
- Monitors and records pricing trends for bids submitted in various areas and throughout different times of the year.
- Help create standardized metrics for project bids across Ontario
- Source and obtain Subcontractor and Supplier quotations to be included in Project Bids
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, sub-contractors and suppliers, while actively sourcing new quality vendors
- Liaises with the client’s Project Manager/Contract Administrator to clarify any questions regarding bid documents.
- Use our CRM and project management software to organize projects, tasks, and construction schedules.
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Estimating in Commercial or Municipal Landscape Construction: 5 years (preferred)
- Previous field experience in Commercial or Municipal Landscape Construction: 3 years (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Working understanding of standard terms and conditions of Tender and RFP documents
- Strong computer skills and a willingness to learn and help improve process workflow.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel, and Word
- Previous estimating software knowledge is an asset.
- Ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks in a logical order of importance.
- Educational background in horticulture, landscape architecture, construction technology, construction/project management, or similar
- Experience using industry standard CRM and Project Management software.
- Travel and occasionally over-night trips where required.
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Well organized and able to multitask
- Work within a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

**Working Remotely**

This position will be able to work remotely, but will also require visits to our head office and to construction sites

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
