The Vector Institute is seeking a Research Engagement and Data Coordinator, reporting to the Director of Research Operations. You will be instrumental in advancing streamlined workflows and processes related to the researcher experience at Vector (i.e., data capture, onboarding, offboarding). You will also be pivotal in enhancing the researcher experience at the Institute through engagement activities that foster a sense of community, such as orientation sessions, town halls, and more.

You play an essential quality assurance role in ensuring the accuracy of researcher data in Salesforce for reporting and compliance purposes. This position requires someone who is energetic and with a high attention to detail.

If you are meticulously organized, have strong data management and customer service skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with growth opportunities, this is the role for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guide researchers through relevant processes, including but not limited to setting up accounts, offboarding, and connecting to the computing cluster.

Cultivate positive relationships with researchers to foster a supportive and inclusive research environment.

**Develop and maintain an onboarding program**: schedule, presentations, welcome packets, and communications.

Facilitate town halls, orientation sessions, and other engagement activities for in-person and online researchers. Orient new researchers on programming and opportunities at Vector, office expectations, relevant policies, and facilitate a sense of belonging for all students.

Assess the onboarding and experience and its effectiveness to identify and target areas for improvement.

Support the maintenance of a comprehensive section on the Vector Intranet and Vector wiki for Faculty Members, Postdoctoral Fellows, and graduate students to be able to access institutional information, assess and provide extensions based on established criteria.

**Data Management/Quality Assurance**:
Maintain data integrity through regular audits, identifying and rectifying inconsistencies, and implementing best practices for data cleanliness and accuracy.

In collaboration with relevant work streams, implement and document streamlined workflows and processes for researcher access to the Vector community.

Enhance data workflows and automation opportunities where possible to reduce manual efforts and increase data accuracy and cleanliness.

Provide constructive feedback to improve processes and strengthen workflows.

Ensure supporting documentation is up to date, and records retention schedules are adhered to.

Support data requests for metrics reporting and program needs.

Other duties as assigned.

KEY SUCCESS MEASURES

Onboarding/offboarding processes and community engagement activities are enhanced to strengthen the researcher experience and culture.

Clean and accurate data is maintained through regular audits and streamlined data management/workflows.

Effective communication and collaboration are used to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines to support a dynamic research environment.

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Degree or diploma, or 2+ years of work-related experience in a research or academic environment.

Strong proficiency with Excel and/or Gsheets, including macros, and proven experience in Salesforce, with Salesforce Administrator certification being highly desirable.

Experience with data cleaning, integrity, and reporting.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders and convey information clearly and concisely.

Strong time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in a team environment (e.g., graduate students, Faculty Members, senior external researchers, leadership teams, operations staff, and graduate students), maintaining confidentiality and providing all with a trusted, respectful point of contact.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic research environment.
