The Mustard Seed is seeking a **Client Support Worker (Part-Time)** to join our team in **Grande Prairie, Alberta.**

The Mustard Seed is committed to helping people who are homeless transition toward and maintain sustainable and healthy lifestyles. The Client Support Worker at The Mustard Seed provides a safe and supportive environment to all residents. Reporting to the Housing manager, the Client Support Worker is responsible to ensure the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of the residents in our Client Support Worker program and work collaboratively with their support systems to encourage resident independence, community engagement and housing stability.

**Schedule**: Saturday and Sunday; 7:00AM to 3:30PM, 2:30PM to 11:00PM, 10:45PM to 7:15AM

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Connect with a specified group of residents living in supportive housing on an on-going basis to assist in building the skills of daily living
- Support the working relationship between the resident and their support network
- Refer the resident back to their Case managers whenever possible/necessary and ensure there are clear lines of communication with outside organizations who serve the residents
- Refer residents to The Mustard Seed services and collaborating with those services
- Provide information about community supports
- Documenting resident interactions, resident referrals, progress and any change in behaviour
- Complete 6-month reassessments and Resident Care Plans when necessary
- Complete incident reports and daily logs in a timely manner
- Welcome and support volunteers when necessary
- Cover Front Desk for patrols and breaks
- Host community events
- Complete incident reports as required, and adhere to all Health & Safety and HR policies and procedures
- Engage in intentional interaction with residents to build rapport and foster community
- Other duties may be assigned

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Diploma or an undergraduate degree in related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with marginalized individuals
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a cross-functional team
- The ability to interact with a variety of individuals
- Strong administrative and computer skills
- Conflict resolution skills and ability to manage residents in crisis situations
- A passion to be part of ending homelessness in Alberta

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Understand that some Mustard Seed clients may have personal issues that results in them using inappropriate language that could be considered angry, argumentative, discriminatory, and demeaning
- Complete required training to be fully equipped to work with the guests and clients of the organization; know how to de-escalate a situation while remaining calm and professional
- Lifting, standing, walking, are required as part of this role
- Moderate to high mental effort required to successfully accomplish the essential job functions such as providing information, resolving discrepancies, responding to highly intense situation

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
