**2023 Summer Student Internship/Co-op Opportunity - Direct Fulfillment - Appliance Operations Intern**

**About the co-op/internship program**:
The Home Depot Canada Internship/Co-op Program is a paid 16-week internship, running from May 8 - August 25th, 2023.

**Job Summary**:
The Direct Fulfillment intern will work on several exciting Market Delivery Operation (MDO) projects with the Appliance Operations team. They will leverage process mapping techniques to develop and implement new processes and methodologies for the Appliance MDOs. Support system implementations, setups, transitions, and conversions. Participate in end user training to ensure best practices is communicated, understood, and executed.
- Facilitate discussions with key business stakeholders to generate solution ideas and provide status updates and reporting
- Develop and manage action plans associated with the assigned projects
- Prepare and present project details/updates when necessary
- Develop process map and SOPs from workshop discussions
- Conduct end user trainings as part of MDO project onboarding
- Participate in system setup, testing and data migration and quality check
- Collection of data to support analyses, either systemically or by observational methods
- Use analytical methods to model/quantify/report current and future state performance and costs
- Use Lean/Six Sigma principles to identify savings opportunities as required

**What You Bring to the Role**:

- Currently pursuing a university and/or college education in Industrial engineering or a related field of study will be considered a preferred qualification.
- Experience with Distribution, Transportation, or a Home Delivery related field a definite asset
- Experience with Six Sigma or other Process Improvement Methodology is preferred
- Proficient in: Microsoft Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visual Basic, SQL, Word and Visio
- Ability to clarify and resolve complex business issues by breaking them down into meaningful components to determine root cause and redesigning internal and external business processes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations

The successful student will be currently enrolled in a Canadian accredited university or college throughout the period of the Internship/Co-op Program. In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work permit.
