Hotel Manager Position in Smithers, British Columbia

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Hotel Manager to lead our hospitality team in Smithers, British Columbia. As the Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our hotel, delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high service standards, and achieving operational excellence. If you have previous experience as a Hotel Supervisor or Hotel Manager and possess strong leadership and organizational skills, we invite you to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our establishment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Guest Satisfaction:

- Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their stay.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and effectively to exceed guest expectations.
- Regularly review guest feedback and online reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary actions.

2. Operations Management:

- Oversee all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and other departments.
- Develop and enforce operational procedures to optimize efficiency and enhance guest experiences.
- Ensure the hotel's services align with brand standards and meet or exceed guest expectations.

3. Staff Leadership and Training:

- Recruit, train, and motivate a skilled and cohesive team of hospitality professionals.
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to enhance the skills and service levels of staff members.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, open communication, and a strong sense of accountability.

4. Financial Management:

- Collaborate with the management team to set and achieve financial goals and targets.
- Monitor financial performance, identify areas for cost control, and implement appropriate measures to maximize profitability.
- Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting and adherence to budget guidelines.

5. Sales and Marketing:

- Partner with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies to increase hotel revenue and occupancy rates.
- Implement marketing promotions and packages to attract new guests and encourage repeat business.
- Cultivate relationships with local businesses and organizations to drive corporate bookings.

6. Health and Safety Compliance:

- Ensure the hotel adheres to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards or maintenance issues.

7. Quality Assurance:

- Uphold the hotel's quality standards and consistently deliver exceptional service to guests.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and overall appearance of the property to exceed guest expectations.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience as a Hotel Supervisor or Hotel Manager is required.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Proven organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of hotel management software and reservation systems.
- Understanding of health, safety, and sanitation regulations in the hospitality industry.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a 24/7 operating environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Fort St. John, BC V1J 0H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
