**Who We Are**

The Human Resources Research People Team plays a key role in providing HR services to faculty, staff and research employees across the University in support of SFU’s Engaging Research goal of being innovative, competitive and attracting the best researchers. The contributions of our research personnel are invaluable in facilitating our strong research performance - and this foundation is strengthened with our Postdoctoral Fellows and Research Assistants as SFU employees. Our goal is to facilitate an effective appointment process and support supervisor/ department needs in the implementation of day-to-day employment practices as they relate to research employees.

**About the Role**

Under the broad direction of an HR Strategic Business Partner, the HR Coordinator provides hands on human resource support, guidance and advice to client group(s). Working closely with leaders and staff within client group(s), the HR Coordinator is responsible for supporting the delivery of HR solutions in support of client business objectives. This involves supporting and guiding a variety of HR functions and initiatives such as recruitment and selection, learning and development activities, job design, employee relations, onboarding, advice, guidance and training to leaders and staff, supporting workforce planning, and ensuring effective HR practices, procedures and documentation are in place.
