**Position: EVENT COORDINATOR**

**Position Profile**:The Event Coordinator is responsible for the event planning and continuing education strategies for the CDSS. This position provides event planning, communications, and project management to support the professional brand, continuing education, and membership services of the CDSS.

**Position Reports to**:Executive Director

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Marketing & Branding**
- Initiates research, develops, and implements new marketing programs, including direct mail, member communications, social media, conferences, workshops, and other initiatives.
- Monitors, evaluates, and reports on similar industry activities; make recommendations based on finding/opportunities discovered.
- Develops strategies and event plans within budget requirements for approval.
- Communicates and negotiates with promotional partners as needed for joint marketing activities.
- Ensures all services and other offerings conform to brand identity and conducts ongoing branding management.
- Creates content and maintains the branding of the CDSS social media platforms.

Project management and event planning
- Attend Continuing Education (CE) planning sessions, generate ideas, and coordinate the logistics for CE events, both virtually and in-person.
- Plan, budget and project manage the annual Saskatchewan Dental Conference.

**Member communications and services**
- Oversees the development, management, and maintenance of all social media vehicles.
- Develops and solicits content for the quarterly member newsletter, working with external creative, and arranges for distribution.
- Collects relevant information and distribution of the Annual Specialist and General Practitioner Suggested Fee Guide.

Other duties as assigned.

**KEY JOB-RELATED REQUIREMENTS**
- **Education**: Diploma or certificate in marketing, advertising, business administration, or experience equivalent.
- **Experience**:3-5 years of work experience in a marketing capacity including 2-3 years of event planning and corporate communications. Graphic design, Public Relations, or experience in a non-profit or association organization, is considered an asset.
- **Project management**:Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, budgeting, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- **Event management**:Working knowledge of the planning and implementation of small and large events for members.
- **Oral and written communication skills**:Strong presentation and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- **Printing and social media**: Knowledge of printing procedures and requirements and working knowledge in social media, print, and web-media.
- **Organizational skills**:Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and multi-task processes that require due diligence and are comprised of multiple steps and requirements.
- **Negotiating**:Able to effectively and professionally negotiate with vendors and speakers to arrive at mutually acceptable fees.
- **Attention to detail**: Well developed skills in attention to detail.
- **Confidentiality**: Maintains and respects confidentiality on all professional matters related to members

**HOURS**

A minimum of 3 days / week, with possibility for additional approved time during events. Some evenings/weekends may be required. Must have a valid driver’s license.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $28.00-$31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
