**Technical Assistant, Infrastructure Maintenance Contracts
**The incumbent is responsible for providing technical support for the preparation, administration and
inspection of maintenance and repair contracts related to municipal infrastructure. The incumbent
also investigates and coordinates responses to enquires, complaints and concerns related to
municipal infrastructure maintenance and repair contracts.

**Successful applicants will possess the following**:

A post-secondary degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Member in good standing of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and
Technologists (OACETT) is an asset.

One year of recent experience within a municipal engineering environment providing various
aspects of contract preparation and administration for municipal infrastructure maintenance and
repair activities.

Knowledge of current construction methodology/techniques, and provincial, regional and
municipal design standards/legislation.

Ability to coordinate and inspect municipal infrastructure repair and maintenance contracts.

Required to maintain a good working knowledge of applicable legislation and Regional policies
and procedures, _Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction Act_, Ontario Traffic Manual
and Ontario Provincial Standards.

Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and Windows based computer

Strong interpersonal, organizational and good communication (oral and written) skills and the
ability to deal courteously and professionally with staff, elected officials and the public.

Ability to work independently on assignments under minimum supervision.

Working knowledge of the ESRI GIS platform would be an asset.

Ability to prepare various forms of correspondence and provide project coordination and contract
administration.

Must be prepared to work irregular hours, including evenings, and weekends.

Must be prepared to undergo a Criminal Reference Check as a condition of employment.

Must possess a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence and provide consent to conduct
ongoing Driver’s Abstracts through the Ministry of Transportation. A clean driving record is
preferred.

Compensation includes a comprehensive benefits package, pension plan, and a salary range starting
at $32.49/hr. - $36.10/hr. (based on a 40 hour work week).
