Digital Communications Specialist

seoplus+ is an innovative digital marketing agency helping small and medium-sized businesses reach their online potential by generating leads and increasing sales.
We are currently looking to hire a part-time Digital Communications Specialist. Someone who thrives in the fast-paced agency environment and is excited by the ever-evolving realms of public relations and social media.
Your role is pivotal in creating and disseminating content that resonates across various industry niches. Your knack for writing high-quality, engaging content isn't just a skill - it's your superpower. We value your ability to navigate the demands of tight deadlines and maintain composure under pressure, making you an ideal fit for our vibrant team.
**Responsibilities and day-to-day activities**:
- Work closely with the Digital PR and Social Media teams to deliver world-class and engaging content through various platforms.
- Daily scan "Help A Reporter Out" (HARO) and Qwoted platforms and match suitable journalist queries to clients' industries.
- Conduct outreach and coordinate stories with clients and journalists.
- Confidently understand each client's tone and unique writing style.
- Write social media captions for various client industries.
- Schedule social media posts.
- Engage with the community on various social media platforms.
- Conduct relevant research, write persuasive public relations submissions and guest blogs.
- Develop and maintain strong personal relationships with key publishers and influencers (journalists, bloggers and PR professionals).
- Engage in brainstorming sessions with the Digital PR and Social Media departments.
- Be a secondary point of contact for our clients' media/PR-related inquiries.
- Monitor social media engagement and measure monthly efforts.
**Qualifications**:
- Be a post-secondary student in one of the following programs: public relations, journalism, communications, English, or similar.
- Have a strong level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills.
- Have the ability to work under pressure to meet daily deadlines and manage monthly deliverables.
- Willing to engage with media contacts through different mediums and build long-lasting and strong relationships.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of at least two of the following industries: Finance, Consumer Technology, B2B Services, Lifestyle/Home, Health, Business/Entrepreneurship, and Trades.
- Be a creative and detail-oriented thinker who is a team player.
- Interested in learning about best practices and techniques in Digital PR, and Social Media marketing.
