We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations for one of our clients, a leading PR agency in Canada. Reporting to the President, The Financial Controller will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, manage accounting functions, and maintain internal controls. This role is integral in overseeing budgeting, compliance, vendor contracts, and financial strategy, and will collaborate closely with the Partners and other key stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Financial Reporting and Oversight**:

- Prepare and manage accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage all accounting operations such as billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Close the books monthly, review bookkeeping, and ensure the budget is up to date.
- **Process Improvement and Audit Management**:

- Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead the preparation and coordination of external audits, ensuring all financial information is accurate and accessible.
- **Vendor and Contract Management**:

- Oversee vendor contracts, ensuring they are signed, billed, and paid accordingly.
- Manage corporate assets and ensure efficient documentation and process management.
- Build and maintain working relationships with external accounting firms
- **Collaboration and Reporting**:

- Provide weekly updates for internal leadership meetings and prepare documents and reports for executive partners.
- Analyze and track profitability by client account and review client expense budgets.
- Work closely with account teams and the AP/AR department to ensure timely and accurate completion of payable and receivable functions.
- **Other Duties**:

- Assist in the review of the agency’s pricing structure annually to ensure accuracy and profitability.
- Be present for in-person status meetings, conference calls, and events after hours as needed.
- Handle other duties or projects as assigned.

**Education and Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA or equivalent designation is an asset
- 7+ years of experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with Mac systems is a plus.

Nous recherchons un contrôleur financier expérimenté pour superviser les opérations financières de l'un de nos clients, une agence de relations publiques de premier plan au Canada. Relevant du président, le contrôleur financier assurera l'exactitude des rapports financiers, gérera les fonctions comptables et maintiendra les contrôles internes. Ce rôle fait partie intégrante de la supervision de la budgétisation, de la conformité, des contrats avec les fournisseurs et de la stratégie financière, et collaborera étroitement avec les partenaires et d'autres intervenants clés.

**Principales responsabilités**:

- **Rapports financiers et surveillance**:

- Préparer et gérer des états financiers précis et opportuns, y compris les bilans, les comptes de résultat et les tableaux de flux de trésorerie.
- Gérer toutes les opérations comptables telles que la facturation, les comptes créditeurs/débiteurs, la paie et le grand livre général.
- Clôturer les livres mensuellement, examiner la comptabilité et s'assurer que le budget est à jour.
- **Amélioration des processus et gestion des audits**:

- Évaluer et améliorer en permanence les processus et systèmes financiers pour améliorer l'efficacité et la précision.
- Diriger la préparation et la coordination des audits externes, en s'assurant que toutes les informations financières sont exactes et accessibles.
- **Gestion des fournisseurs et des contrats**:

- Superviser les contrats des fournisseurs, s'assurer qu'ils sont signés, facturés et payés en conséquence.
