The West Vancouver Current Planning and Urban Design group is currently seeking a Permanent Full-Time Planning Technician to join our highly qualified team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Current Planning and Urban Design primarily working on current (development) planning initiatives and projects.
- conduct analysis and preliminary review of development proposals in terms of their conformance to the Official Community Plan, other objectives, policies, and bylaws including the Zoning Bylaw;
- perform a variety of research tasks for planning projects including compiling and analyzing data, performing calculations, estimates, and projections; and preparing narrative, statistical and graphic reports;
- support more senior staff in community planning public engagement processes (from time to time), by coordinating event logistics, drafting communications materials, preparing graphic/visual presentations, and other related tasks; and
- perform other related duties as required.

Position Status:
Union (WVMEA) - Permanent Full-Time

Hours of Work:
35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Starting Rate of Pay:
$42.08 per hour (2024 rate)

(This position has a pay structure with five steps which increase annually.)
