**Job Summary**:
We are seeking an Assistant General Manager, responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing daily hotel operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

**What will I be doing?**

As the Assistant General Manager, you would be responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing daily hotel operations in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

- Assist in leading, directing and managing all hotel operations including, but not limited to, hotel budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, managing balanced scorecard performance, implementing and complying with all company policies and brand standards, overseeing sales and marketing initiatives, responding to guests inquiries and resolving concerns, and meeting participation and facilitation
- Oversee the Operations, including but not limited to Front Office, Food and Beverage, Housekeeping and Maintenance Departments.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, supervising, training, assessing and evaluating, coaching and counseling and recognizing and rewarding department heads
- Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service and financial measurement
- Assist in identifying operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implementing measures to correct those deficiencies
- Participate in the daily revenue management of the Hotel, including planning for market shifts and ensuring daily inventory is managed to maximize revenue potential.
- Participate in development of short and long-term financial and operational plans for the property.
- Monitor and maintain all inventories at the hotel.
- Ensure hotel participation in brand-specific programs and leverage available franchise resources to optimize the performance of the hotel.
- Ensures full compliance with all Sunray Group and Brand policies and procedures.
- Ensure guest and team member satisfaction
- Ensures full compliance with all regulatory and statutory regulations and requirements, including but not limited to health, liquor, labor, environmental and fire code regulations. Is informed of all changes to regulatory requirements affecting hotel operations.
- Is an engaged ambassador both internally and externally for Sunray Group and the Hilton Garden Inn brand.
- Serve and act as General Manager in his or her absence
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned.

**Work Experience and skills required**
- Bachelor's degree in hotel management, business, or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-5 years of management experience in the hospitality industry.
- Experience with Hilton Garden Inn and/or other Hilton brands an asset.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, including business and marketing plans, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, repair and maintenance, and long-term planning initiatives.
- Strong understanding of F&B and Rooms division is critical to the success of the role.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with a positive attitude and commitment to success.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
